Be well out there all you Millis folk. Hopefully you're reading this at home while enjoying the company of family. I'm at home for a minute, and working. Just like the poor sap at the brokerage firm that answered an email at 06:45 this morning. Poor guy. Holiday weekend Saturday morning and he's grinding so I can keep grinding. Gotta love trucking. Happy Labor Day, ya'll.

No there was a curb there I'm pretty sure they were finished with that much. I hope they plan on painting lines in the future, though.
In what little bit of time I've been out here I've seen a lot of places that have improved. The one place that really needs it, and I'm not sure if they ever will, is that one beer distributor in Erlanger, KY. That place needs new pavement and some lines and some more room in the front if that's even possible. I hate backing up in these cratered lots with the automatics. It wasn't as big of a deal with a stick.
I picked up in Waco about a month and a half ago. It was my first time there and it was still pretty hairy getting around to where the docks were. I'd hate to have seen what it was like before the improvements.
It's kind of funny that 53' trailers have been the norm for dry vans for how long now? Since at least the 90s. Shippers and receivers are just now realizing they need to make some more room for us. I understand at some places (like Anchor in Elmira) there's simply no room to make room, but in a lot of these places there's room to expand. -
I'm still out here trying to make a buck. I was doing pretty good until i got to Cleveland, TN and had a trailer tire disintegrate. Then I get to Cartersville and no empties. I was told that they can find me a reload quickly but I have to find a trailer, and there are none here. I wonder if it'll be worth going down to Smuckers in the morning and looking for one. The last time I went there looking for one they wouldn't release one to me.

There is a place right across 75, literally. Can't remember the name of it thought. I found an empty there once but don't just grab and go. Check with your dispatcher first.
Anyone remember the name of the place? -
Hopefully at least one of you will get this.
Steelersjunkie Thanks this. -
Man, I really needed that laugh right now
We all float down here, Georgie.
-
It's called Gateway of Georgia. Instead of going into the T/A keep going down the side street and thru the cul-de-sac around the bend.

Good luck getting a trailer with weekend dispatch, those guys are just keeping the seats warm

I didn't mean to ask them before going, that would be a wasted macro. Meant to drive across the way and see if there was one there first, if so then call in.
The next closest place I know of is that DC about 20 minutes North but getting into there is like getting into Fort Knox. -
I don't miss that. I had my last trailer for three weeks. Got a new one on Friday. Literally brand new. Gotta love it, that doesn't happen often. I am a huge fan of these Hyundai trailers they run. Beautiful tracking, air slide tandems, they float like a dream. Great Dane who??? Never heard of them lol.
