Hi! My truck randomly kicks the idle up to 7-800 rpms. It’s not doing a regen but does anyone know if this is normal or not? Thanks!

What year truck and what engine? How long does it idle up for? What is the normal idle rpm? How long are you idling before it kicks up?
Oxbow Thanks this. -
My 2013 T660 does the same BS. Normal idle is around 550-ish, but will idle up randomly from time to time around the 750-800 mark w/increased engine oil temp. I had asked a mechanic this once before, and he claimed it's called "passive regen". Idk, but personally, it's annoying as hell. Hope you find out if this is normal or not, cause I'd like to know myself.

I have a 2016 T880 with a ISX15 it does the same thing. It is the passive regeneration. Nothing to worry about and no way to stop it.

It's the Cummins regen mode. It probably changes pitch at that time too.

Stop idling.
Problem solved
