If you're referring to guys who haul mail for the USPS across country, I don't know. It varies depending on the arrangement you have with the contractor.

Just applied to Tri-Hi. They are going to change the way they pay in part to driver turn over. They told me .47 per mile, ugh but I didn’ ask if that was a som total of things, have to remember to ask they if they except my application. Hope they do seems like a nice smallish company and I would luv to live in WI.

You do not understand how the tables are used to calculate withholdings. At the end of a year, whether you are paid once a week or once a month, the amount of tax you PAY is based upon your taxable income for the year.

If you don't have your withholding deductions set up for your situation, you are going to have more taxes withheld from your pay than you need to, and you will wait until you file your taxes to get a refund.

You have obviously never operated a business and dealt with employees. When I did, I found it much easier to give advances, based upon the hours worked, then do payroll once a month, calculate withholdings, and deduct the net paid of any advances. Some of my employees actually didn't take an advance each week. They liked the flexibility.

You only did payroll once a month? Was that for a trucking company or something else?

Bumping this old thread. My rookie year is almost done and I'm thinking Tri Hi could be a good fit for me. Anyone have any recent experience with them?

I've talked to a few of their drivers in the recent past. They all liked the company. I am pretty sure they stay in the mid-west. I've seen their trucks at several Walmarts and a few Super-Valu as well. Never see them in Canada.

You should start an email dialogue with them and ask a lot of questions like apu? Pay, pet, how long do you want drivers to stay out etc.

    Skibum19614106 and C_Scrutinizer Thank this.
