UMMMMM you have a contract. Even as a Agent we were told you BCO's KNOW and are taught how to figure you rmoney. I know plenty of BCO's myself and they can tell me to the penny ho wmuch they are gonna make on a load! BTW if you lay claims to being with them for 11 years then howcome 1-you do not know where your money goes and 2-you don't know how much you are gonna/will make on a load (you seem so confused after 11 years on how to figure your money) and 3-I am a Agent and con only reitterate what I know I have been told by many BCO's over a period of many years as to how they know how much money they are gonna make. I know how to figure my part which is relativley ez but I am scratching my head raw as to your circumstance. Did you get someone to show you how to figure your money on a load? Did you read your contract?

WOW I didn't know I was a guy but thank you very much ;) I forwarded this site to other people in Jacksonville and the reply I received from them was that all those cases were dismissed. Whether or not how they perceived the post as to a current case or not I have no clue. I only realted from what emails' I receieved and I am sure they replied as to which cases they assumed the postee was referring to. I would find it interesting myself to call the actual court system to see if and where the cases stand.

Gents, this thread was started back in July by a member that was very poorly informed of the facts of anything that he posted. He lasted a week or so until he was asked to leave the site due to his diatribes against others (including myself) and Landstar. He was apparently pretty frustrated by his own lack of business skills. There was another thread running here that pretty much refuted his claims about Landstar.

As for any current OOIDA suits against Landstar, I am not sure of their current status and will see what i can dig up, but in general they were not major issues but more cases dealing with interpretation of the contractual provisions. OOIDA often files suit dealing with such matters, and the redress of the matters by the court usually results in relatively minor changes in the way the contracts are worded and enforced.

LOL Talk about being confused. The only thing i'm confused about is what BCO stand for. And where 2% of my money goes. Now let me repeat myself for those who didn't read my first post to this thread !!! I am not leased to Landstar or anybody and never will be. And yes i do have a contract for every load i haul for landstar and as an agent you should know this is most often refered to as a rate confirmation. Not to mention the original contract where i agreed to pay the 2% and not to back solicit your customers etc... etc... One thing i definetly know how to do is count my money. When i try to book a load thru an agent such as yourself at a minimum i'm gonna bump up my rate as much as possible and i'm gonna get that 2% back or else i won't haul the load unless the rate already exceptional. My only beef with Landstar is this 2% thing thats supposedly for insurance which nobody at your corporate office can explain what kind of insurance its for and refuse to send me a copy of the policy. I,m already carrying 5 million truck liabilty, general liabilty, 500 thousand cargo, and a collision policy on every truck and trailer that i own. And workman's comp. But i strongly feel that i shouldnt have to pay 2% for some insurance that doesnt benifit me what so ever. Thank you for the business and paying in a timely manner. Good Day

Before I was leased to LS I brokered a few loads from them. All they ever give you is the price. That 2% should not affect you as a brokered truck. All the brokered loads I have priced against what I get as a leased O/O have always been within $50 either way. There maybe loads that are different, but all the ones that I've checked on were.

The problem that the hate LS crowd has is that they cannot stand a successful company. If LS was screwing their BCOs like the thread started claimed why do they have so many million miles and multi million miles BCOs??????

And my opinion from the original post is that guy does not know how to do his math. He makes it sound like he thought he was getting 100% of what was posted on the load board, and then found out he was only getting 67% of 98% and thought he was getting the shaft. ROFLMAO he musta never read the contract he signed.

The original poster was quite an interesting case. In addition to his relatively specious claims of problems at Landstar, he also claimed to have bought three tractors in a row where they were purportedly sold to him with reasonably low mileage, 600k or so, and all had over 1 million miles on them. Get fooled once, maybe, get fooled by the same thing three times, big maybe.

We don't do a lot of humor posts on here, but going back through his week of membership is an interesting read. Somehow along the way my advice offended him greatly, and that seemed to add fuel to his fire.
