Never understood complaining about the Company aside from normal grumbling. Which most people do to some extent. Sometimes it’s good to vent as they say. I just don’t get how people trash their employers as this or that. If they’re no good and you’re working for them where does that put you?

I've been cogitating around the issues of your OP for a few years.

It doesn't matter how good a situation can be, there's ALWAYS a person that will look at the worst. I personally TRIED that tack, after reading a popular book called Winning Through Intimidation. That was back in the '80's. What I learned from THAT experiment was that by golly YES! I could be a complete #######...

..but I didn't get any better service or interact any better with my fellow human beings.

Since then I have been entirely focused on making life a little better for all of humanity around me. As a truck driver I see my job as making sure everyone around me reaches their destination today safely, and with a reasonable level of courtesy.

    Choices are extremely important
As I noted from the wisdom of that rancher's signs, those choices become habits. Get in the habit of making good choices (that recognize you AREN'T the only person on the planet) and life gets better.

Good advice for Driving as well keeping good habits is what will allow you to avoid an accident by responding out of habit as opposed to freezing up.

Attitudes do rub off on others. I’ve noticed this so many times starting with my own.

Another topic that has been touched on in this thread, from the OP onward, is the "herd mentality". This is important to understand as a professional driver.

Human beings are by nature competitive pack animals.

This explains a lot about what goes on around you. You can be on a two lane freeway, nobody else around, and a four wheeler starts to pass, but just hangs out next to you.

They are waiting for more vehicles to pull up behind them. They are lonely. They are clueless of the hazards of driving next to truck tires that can blow out with the force of a hand grenade. They need the reassurance of other drivers backed up behind them before they can ease on through and come over within a split second of your smooth bore tanker carrying heavy acid.

Make a habit of choosing the safer option.

    I use the PACE principle:
    Positive
    Attitude
    Changes
    Everything

I try to find something positive in everything that happens and go from there.
