Hopper is miserable. I don't know what it's like driving for a company....but as an O/O; with hopper, you are paid by weight---so I used to run on an eighth of a tank of fuel (because I didn't get paid to haul fuel....I got paid to haul product)---I was ALWAYS at 80,000 gross, because I got paid by the ton.
You DO get pretty good at "eyeballing" the product (both amount and placement)---there IS a trick to it. However; it doesn't move as much as 379exhd would have you believe (takes a pretty hard fast brake'n forward or back to shift the product enough to change your axle weights).
And any/all "meals" stick. Prepare to clean out your trailer by any means necessary after hauling it.
P.S.- You hopper guys, stop cleaning out your remnants on the side of the exit/entrance ramps and in truck stops....show some class.

Haven't been around here for a while but wanted to give an update. 7 years here and everything is still going great. Starting pay is now.55cpm. They raised layover, breakdown, and holiday pay to 225 dollars a day. Detention Is 21 dollars a n hour. My miles are consistent and the equipment is great. I really am treated well here.
REO6205 Thanks this.
