Was 12 packs of lumber. 2x6x16’, stacked two high with 6 stacks. I use it for a backhaul to get me back to NC. When we got the call we said get to closest scale because 12 packs shouldn’t weight that much. I didn’t think so anyways because the others we have hauled wasn’t
Overweight ticket, shipper wrong about weight.

Yes, now I will install scales and inform drivers to scale everything over 35

Also say what you need. I come to the forum to learn. I take what all you guys say into account. I know I don’t know everything and am always up for advice.

This is getting crazy. The shipper goofed to start.
The driver did not weigh when he had the option.
Depending on gearing any truck will pull 90k to 100k not even knowing it.
I've grossed 127k on a regular day cab Columbia with a 12.7 and a 10speed governed at 65mph @1500 rpm with a tri lift axle van. And those trucks were old but the trailers were older. This Was a bad day that could have been worse.
The shipper still makes no sense to start with.
I'm thinking if the load was not that heavy normally the it was green wood or it got wet somehow. Water will add a ton of weight to wood.Jasonar15 Thanks this. -
Daumm. Driver should know when it's 40k _over_...
Gee, the ride is different, kinda slow to get going....
Everyone has a bad day once in a while. But 40k+ over? Was it on a Monday?
The Spidey sence should have kicked in before Virginia.Last edited: Sep 5, 2018

Could have been green. All packs are wrapped in plastic.Oldironfan Thanks this.

Just the standard air bag/suspension guages should be enough to tell the driver if something isn't right.

I can only say a certain amount. YOU sir is a company. A employer etc. I might be sitting in your orientation next week. And so I choose to be diplomatic. Roughly. Kinda. It's obvious I am a driver more than anything and its offending to me that another driver is not with it to where you have such a outrageous weight issue and a big fine to boot.
I can talk to you a little bit about this and that. But ultimately the community consensus would be what you want more than just little old me.Jasonar15 Thanks this. -
It's what? 48 PSI when loaded to 34000 ont he drives maybe? 50? A 94000 load would push it way past that.
Trucking has made a impression on me that they reduce the amount of gauges with useful information in a dashboard. I don't even know if there is anything left on there to be useful. Just a RPM, Speed, fuel amount and a bit of airtank readings. Ugh.skellr, Jasonar15, SixShooterTransport and 1 other person Thank this.
