my other half has had his cdls for several years and has a clean driving record but cant seem to find a decent company thanks to "weiner" we now hae a two week eviction notice and five little boys. gotta love those 0 paychecks.

is there any company out there still doing well anymore? preferably one who doesnt care if five homeless boys tag along.. eek..

he has been looking into these moving companies any advice? he seems to think its an awesome thing but after swift and werner not so sure his judgement is the greatest.. ugh

    help help help

First you should let us know what part of the country you are in. The company chices can change with your location.
Also, how much "recent" experience does your other half have. He may have enough experience after Swift and Werner to land a position wher he won't have to compete with the new drivers.

so your saying 7 people in that truck? (you/him/5 boys) How much room do you all honestly think is in that truck? 1 or 2 people tops is the limit without going insane in a matter of days. and certanitly not a moving company. if i am thinking right aren't the other workers in the truck also?

how much exp does he have? i am guessing he did not leave on good terms with swift/werner and they marked up his DAC. might want to get a copy of that to see what is on it. i would suggest to go stay with friends/family for a few weeks to get a few dollars together. and pending how long it has been since he has driven and total exp he has he might have to go with a refresher trainer for a few weeks and there is no way that person will let 5 kids in his/her truck. need to look at the small picture first and then think big. Good luck

I agree, Insurance will not allow more than 2 in the truck normally, also, the DOT most likely would not allow you to have 3 children in the truck, safety issuses, not to mention health and psychological issues, You would probably end up loosing the children to the state that found you doing it, You need a place to stay out side the truck, even if you have to place the children as a group or individually with family or friends for a period of time, until you can get on your feet, you should be able to get your leggs under you in about 3 months or less. Much good luck!!!

I believe the 5 boys thing was meant to be a bit on the humorous side. The Law requires kids to be in school these days gents , they can't grow up in a truck with no education Washington prohibits it. DCS would get involved I'm sure somehow they would be led on to them. I don't think she is for real so much as stressing the dire situation that lies ahead sooner than later if they find no help.
If he has recent experience and hasn't been out of the truck long , have him look into Roehl or Shaffer they too are beginner co's but hiring standards may not be as strict.
And as any beginner co , have their issues , I can honestly say JB Hunt , Werner , and Swift are far worse than Roehl and Shaffer. If you read here and read carefully you can spot those that have absolutely nothing good to say about any of them. Then there are those that sound more like or actually are recruiters. Then there are those that share their experience good and bad , tell it like it is and seek nothing in return. The even use caution when summing up the bad not to burn bridges . I hope your guy didn't abandon a co. truck that will be real bad for his chances. Only you know the fact so far , you didn't share a whole lot with us. That okay it's your business not ours.
