    Interesting observation.

But for every way you falsify your RDs I can show you 2 ways to prove it, and I'm retired. How may ways do you think a present-day officer can prove?

I understand, but do not run that way.

Food for thought. What are you going to do when the onboard recorders come?

It is reasons like this that are going to mandate it.

    My 2cents worth.

This is why I don't run for a company that has QC's, and never will. I will
run for a mom and pop company before I go to a company with QC. QC's
lack personality and a sense of humanism.

As far as logbook is concerned I will run how I want to. This takes what I
see a lot of drivers lack ( 4 wheelers included ) and that is RESPONSIBILITY. I don't need the government or anyone else telling me
when to sleep and when to drive, only IDIOTS need to be told this. Thats
the problem with the world, we lower our standards to an idiot level, and place laws to govern all, idiots and non-idiots alike. If I am tired I will park
and sleep, if I am not tired and know I am not without one ounce of doubt
I will run, point blank. I have been driving for more then 14 years and have not had one single accident, why because I know my limitations, unlike a lot of other drivers ( 4 wheelers included ). I get tired of people tying to tell me how to run my truck, if they would be more concerned with how they drive and take responsibility for their actions than there would be less accidents. Take responsibility for yourself. I get tired of hearing drivers or companies getting sued because some 4 wheeler fell asleep at the wheel,
or was not paying attention and caused the accident, but blames the truck driver or the the company. Its the Idiot 4 wheeler thats at fault! Even truck drivers are guilty of falling asleep at the wheel or are not paying attention.

If you drive and are about to fall asleep, but keep driving then you are wrong.
If you can not pay attention to your surroundings while you are driving you are wrong.
If you cause an accident and blame it on the other drive you are irresponsible.

So wake up America and learn some self responsibility.

P.S. if you don't like my flashy mud flaps, or my SSteel door, buy some sunglasses. But I dont have the chrome ladys on my mud flaps only because I think its degrading to women, but to each his own and if that person like them then thats their buisness not mine.

I feel better now. LOL :biggrin_25525:

While I agree with LoneWolf, Thumper has a good point too. But what I meant isn't the old school of outlaw trucking that caused me to quit in '88, but just a small reasonable infraction here and there to get the dang load in to avoid losing the next one.
And that only if that's what the company wants. I'd be perfectly happy to drive perfectly legal as long as my paycheck is reasonable. I'd much rather not have to worry about the steeenken cops...between a rock and a hard spot, I'd not want to worry about my dispatch either. I'd put my foot down if they start doggin' me. There's no prosperity in tickets; driver and company both need to win.

Rambler: heh, we posted simulaneously.. Now why don't you just let go and tell 'em how you REALLY feel!

I bet when i get my own truck again you wont be able to prove anything
when I hauled cars I paid for everything in cash and the bol I wrote myself
Think anything had a date are time on it?
Half the time the people didnt know where they lived much less what date and time I picked it up.
I dont run illegal all the time just in certian areas like when you sit all day but at the same time I am not going to be out and not make money either.
1, you can track by receipts
    2.Gps including phone calls
    3. qualcoms
    4.shipper/recevier
Been long day I maybe forgetting a few anyway I am not here to teach the new guys how to run illegal just think its nuts for someone to claim to run 100% legal and dont care if they piss off the dispatch or planners

    I can as well Thumper.

I just recently had the experience with a friend who had an accident.

No Qualcomm. Loose leaf logs. Pays cash for fuel. Keeps the receipts and writes all of the stops and the miles on a trip envelope that no one knows about.

No way to know what he did before the accident. They requested the logs after the 6 months. However, the company scans the logs through a separate company. Sooner or later, this will come out. The logs will be found.

They requested copies of his phone records. He used the phone to call dispatch and they called him.

This is where he will get caught. I know how he ran before and after the wreck.

How much of this is really the fault of the driver?

I know the last company I left is because they kept trying to make me run at night and load and unload during my 10 hour breaks. The qualcomm was going to be a problem. Plus, how can someone sleep for 8 hours get up and then be told they need to sleep for 14 more hours so they can drive all night.

It goes against the bodies natural clock. But the log book is legal.
