Well everyone makes mistakes but after talking with driver today and I asked him how did you not know the truck was that overweight? It has a air scale on dash. He said well the air scale in truck read 85psi and I said well that means you are overweight! I said why didn’t you scale it and he said I didn’t have $10 and by the time I was loaded and would got to scale I would not had time to get back for them to take some off. I said ok after you get unloaded bring the truck to the yard. I may sound harsh but that’s just pure laziness and total disregard to the company. If I was driving for someone I would have went back to yard and waited till morning before I went down the road.

What does the air scale read in psi for a legal weight load?

Depends on how it’s loaded. At around 70-73 you are close and should be heading to a scale.

There are two CAT scales in the Baltimore area at the TA truckstops he could have scaled at. Additionally if he got popped at the scale house south of the DC loop on 95 that's on him. That scale never closes.

He did not have $10. Do you offer advances?
He knew he was over, but did not ask to rework before leaving?
    I'm confused?

The fuel card allows them to purchase weight tickets. Boils down to he wanted to get home and couldn’t get there if he scaled and went back to yard.

Has he worked for you for very long? Is he experienced? If yes and yes, that wouldn't set well.
