Yes they tried many things to help clean them up. Unfortunately the laws just kept getting worse.... Detroit and Cat both are great engines, both slaughtered to the wayside by yuppies.

 

@cke nope, but I'll likely be through the Clearwater/I94 area on Monday night or Tuesday morning. Heading to East Chain, MN on Sunday, then reload in Waterloo, IA. Timing should be better this time that I get to finish my day around there, or stop for a break on the way back in the morning.

This is not pretty. The I-5 detour is running them out and down thru Burney ,CA it's a nightmare 2 lane. It has two saw Mills onthat road.

And as of 9pm

I-5 NB. Above redding And I-5 SB.by ca-89 Closed no update for opening.

 

5 hours from Redding to Burney. Wrecks break downs and out right stupidity all witnessed.

And a Melton truck managed to lose part of it's load right in the middle of Burney.

 

Pretty sure they assume everyone is a door slammer...

 

@wore out, I was in your neck of the woods...JJs Truck Stop on 30. They hired a new waitress and I had to pick on her. I asked for a glass of iced tea, “shaken, not stirred.”

Well, she had to go and ask another waitress what that meant. The other waitress looks puzzled and the new waitress points at me. “Oh....HIM...”

“LEAVE HER ALONE!!! You’re confusing the help!”

 

Btw, @stwik, in case you didn’t know...Cochran’s Travel Plaza I75 Ringgold has a daily special with decent prices. Just be mindful that the waitresses aren’t cute.
