Had a John Deere stop there just last week. Wasn't too bad. I hate E coast as much as anybody but I've found that if I psyche myself up for it, it's not so bad. Ya know there's gonna be lots of traffic and back ups, tight turns in the city and jerk drivers. I just take it slow and easy. To be honest, there are a lot of nice 4-wheelers out there that will hold up traffic for you. Patience is the key.

We delivered to Manchester CT yday. 1250mile load from Memphis. Ran to Trenton picked up student off hometime before going out there. Honestly was 1 of the easiest loads I've had. 84 into Connecticut didnt have much traffic, and then had to bounce down to Waterbury for a drop n hook going back to Wisc. Cut up some Connecticut and Massachusetts backroads and seen some awesome scenery. Towns incorporated in the 1700s. Just a really cool area.
Farmer54 and BazookaJoe Thank this. -
Any of you guys ever taken paper rolls to Scientific Games in Alpharetta, GA? I'm sitting here waiting for the other guy to get out of the dock now. This place is truly awful. You have to blindside back around the back of the building just to get back here where the dock is, then there's a tight blindside dock once you get here. Hopefully I can get in and out of here without tearing up something.

Well that sounds like a fantastic way to spend a Friday lmao good luck
-
Oh yeah! When I woke up this morning I was thinking "I hope they have me drive on 285 to get to a nearly impossible backing scenario, just to make Friday interesting!" My wishes were granted!
I got it in there, but I never wanna go back there if I can keep from it.
What makes it even worse is that I just took it to Alpharetta from Cartersville. So no miles, either.
But the memories.... -
Well got to Miller early RFD at 1130 then 230 comes around and a load to pick up in Owens tomorrow afternoon I moved a whole 3 miles today. Keep getting no loads. Ah gotta love these days.

To illustrate...
The QC direction notes ended awith the words "DIFFICULT DOCK." So I go and look up the place on Google Maps, and I see the area circled in green and think "What's the big deal about that?" So I get there and there's one dock, marked "8," available, and I don't want to block that driveway to the right so I go ahead and open my doors and back into it. I take my bills inside and the guy says "No this goes around to dock number 2." Then he explains to me how I have to back all the way around back to it because there's no place to turn around back there. I figured after I got back there it would be a straight-line back into the door, but oh no. As you see by the red lines and arrows, there's a blind-side dock once you get back there, and pretty much NO room to pull up and wiggle around.
I don't know what these docks were designed for, but it sure wasn't this truck.Steelersjunkie Thanks this. -
That blows. Where are you right now?

WTF? I'm not sure why it put my picture on my reply to you instead of my own post.
