Hi everyone. I am a 7 yr solo driver and I am thinking about accepting a team run. The question is can team drivers switch seats back and forth doing less than 10 hrs and 10 hrs. Can they do let's say 6 and 6 or 8 and 8 continuously. Answers are greatly appreciated, thanks.

How would you get a 10 hour break in doing it that way?
snowlauncher and Big Grip Thank this. -
You've been driving for 7 years and don't know the hos? Just wow!.
At least I keep getting amazed at the posters here.
Here's what you have to do. Next time at a truckstop, go inside. Over by paper logs, paper bills, maps, etc a a little green book.
Buy it.
Read it.
Read it again.
Read it a third and subsequent times until you know the laws you work under.
Pay attention to Part 395 for your answersnowlauncher Thanks this. -
Should be able to, but no you cant.Big Grip Thanks this.

No. In practice under HOS rules, there’s no way a team truck can literally be rolling or fueling 24 hours a day. Why would you want to? Don’t you have to crap and shower?
Big Grip and austinmike Thank this. -
Catheter, cat box, baby wipes.Samuelh Thanks this.

If you spend more than an hour a day crapping and showering you've got issues. If you actually log a crap stop you've got other issues.Big Grip Thanks this.

In my case we don't ALWAYS roll 10 hours. As long as we are on time, we could park after 8 hours or so. Then the codriver that's up next just waits 2 hours, then we are moving again.
But we usually always roll pretty hard until we get there. The sooner we get there, the sooner the layover/detention clock starts ticking. -
Maybe, but the FMCSA is the ones making the rules, this is not me making suggestions.
