I liked the one comment that I heard a driver make to his dispatcher.
It was clear that the dispatcher felt he had no reason to be parked. He tried to explain the situation and was not having any luck.
He finally told the dispatcher, that since he was such a bad driver he would just wait for him here and he could take over. It got real quiet.
After he hung up he had some clearly not complimentary comments about the dispatcher.

After actually reading the news article I feel so sad for both victims..It seems that this was truly an UNprentable accident...and no where does it mention or insinuate that this driver was FORCED to do anything...I feel for this young man only 23 years old and this is a memory he will carry for life...

i have QC and i will tell them when i am parking, i dont ask! I work for a great company that stresses saftey so i have never had a problem

The article clearly shows that the accident was an act of God. There was no way he would have known about the gust.
The attorneys will most likely come up with something that will show the driver negligent. -
No doubt on that. Ultimately, due to the state of affairs with our litigious society, the company will pay a settlement.
I once knew a guy who worked for a subcontractor on a job. A concrete slab fell on him. It fell because the foreman kicked out the bracings before he was supposed. The subcontractor was on its last legs and closed shortly there after. He ended up suing the general contractor for personal injury and won, stating that the negligence of the foreman caused his injury, and since the sub was out of business had been working on the general's behalf, they were responsible.
Funny thing is, he was the negligent formeman. He sued a third party for his own actions. Aint America great. Of course, the deceased and his family in this tragic case are legitimate victims of a non-existant villian. -
I saw a empty wagon in Wyoming tip over from wind, I was happy that I had transmissions accross the bottom of my truck. Low weight! kept me pinned to the road. but he just slowly went up and the trailer then lifted the tractor with it and over on the side it went. I stopped and the driver was climbing out the window. but ok

As a new driver this situation is my worst nightmare. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims family and the truck driver.
