Millis OTR journal

Well, today's game was a fitting end to a very weird and frustrating week. Two loads cancelled. I replaced them but had to scramble hard to make that happen. I lost a third load today because of a trailer issue. I deadheaded further than I probably should have to get to this TA to get the work done. If I'm gonna sit waiting to get into a bay and then wait on the repair, I'm gonna go somewhere comfortable. Plus, this TA has proven themselves in the past. I'm back in Ohio on very familiar ground and in a killer freight area for the morning. Ironically, I was bailed out twice last week by an agency that screwed me in the past a couple times. Turns out it was just one bad apple there. The rest of them have been fantastic. I am hoping I'll get good news in the morning, I made a phone call and sent an email to the same company on a really good load that picks up close to here. That'll make a hat trick of saved situations by the same company if I get it. It's last minute, but they are REALLY happy with me right now. I will be forever loyal, that's a guarantee. What a surreal definition of irony that would be, since I wrote them off previously because of one person. Color me embarrassed. Life lessons re-learned with judging a book by the cover and second chances and all that. Hope ya'll are doing well tonight in Millisland. And now I'm getting back to the last reason I'm at this truck stop... the bar next door. Cheers guys. Sleep well and be safe.

It's dinner time. No need for condiments, because nothing will make this meal easy. Time to eat this crow. That agency I maligned indeed came through with a hat trick performance and bailed me out of yet another crappy situation. Really solid run, too. Got a random call once I was on my way from agent local to my home with a killer follow up load going to Cleveland. When it rains it pours for both good and bad I guess. On top of that, home is directly on the way to my final for the Cleveland load. Dinner and some alone time with Mrs Junkie. Complete 180 from last week's debacle, and much appreciated. This crazy ### job makes my head spin sometimes. But, this is the best life ever. Even with the bad. Goodnight Millisland. Sleep well and be safe. Check those pins
