I am planning on the Military transition as well. It sounds like a hell of a plan. even though I have been out of the military for over 30 years, they say that as long as you have the benefits they will pay. Lets hope so. Christine is the recruiter that I have been talking with and she has been great. she has been able to answer all questions and has been very helpful with my application.

jshepp, you might contact the local VA Office and check on the benefits. I went thru the VA counsoler at Fort Scott Community College where I took my schooling and they are going to re imburse me for the school as well.

About the shortage of trucks, I just got off the phone with Christine who said that they are currently short on trucks, but she could not say that would be true when I finish my training.

If you were honorably discharged and served more than 3 years on active duty then you are qualified for the MGIB. I would call the VA and talk to them so you can get your paperwork to show you are eligible.

Yes I talked to her about this yesterday and she said it was about a 3 - 4 week right now. She said it could get better by the time I get done with my training. I can handle a month but I cant handle 3 months. I told her this and she said that she seriously doubted that it would be that long.

Cool!! I guess maybe the guy you talked to didn't have all the info but I just thought .... "3 months????" That's a bit long to wait. :yes2557::yes2557: I know that they are phasing out the red trucks now and switching to white. My hubby has a red CFI and is suppose to be getting a new truck beginning of March. We'll see how that goes. The truck he's in now is starting to have too many break downs :biggrin_2551:. His truck is in the shop right now and he's been sitting since yesterday. Thank goodness he'll be paid for sitting ... it won't much but it's something. :yes2557:

I don't know if you will be eligable for the VA benefits. The GI Bill expires after 8 years. So even if you had it and didn't use it, it probably already expired.

    Blue Streak Thanks this.

Thanks 502 but I am still going to apply. If they give it to me fine if not that will be OK.
