My one buddy has a 99 Pete he bought new. He broke his crank right before they changed the law to engine year. He put a 02 recon 6nz in it. So that's sucks he is 100 air mile exempt. If he ever changes lanes that could suck. The good Mennonites in his area said they could give him a new plate for the engine. I'd hate to have to explain that if dot figured that out.Doing_flatbed_nc and Rideandrepair Thank this.

There’s also dispatch services and all the rest have to crunch #s may be a good compromise. Keep control and freedom

Im always trying to think long term and my goal for the future is to gorw the operation into a multi truck operation at some point.
The more I think about this, the more I think it would be silly to give up our #'s. Im too quick to try and jump on what might make more $ in the short term, plus I am looking to do everything I can to get back to open deck.
I talked to my wife about it last night and Im going to get her more involved so that it will relieve the burden from my mom and make them feel like they dont have to shoulder the responsiblity as much.Midwest Trucker and RSB34 Thank this. -
The paperwork for one truck operation shouldnt take more than more than 10mn a day and could be done with a smart phone,a printing/scanning app for invoicing and a mileage tracker app for ifta.
4/5 folders to keep receipts organized and a calender to keep track of due dates.
I carry a small pocket notebook where i write everything that i need to remember.the only thing my wife helps me with is giving me a ride home when i drop my truck at the garage to be worked on.SoDel, Rounded_nut and Doing_flatbed_nc Thank this. -
I never thought of a mileage tracker app for ifta. Are there any that would keep track of the miles in each state?tommymonza Thanks this.

Yeah, I do everything myself and it really doesn't take much time at all.
anything that can't be handled electronically with a smart phone is taken care of when I'm home.
For me, the hsrdest part on running my one truck operation is urinating on command for physicals and the random I had last week. -
I use tripsheetsonline, its 19.99 a month.i manually input my start end locations and stops at the end of each day plus fuel purchases, come ifta time just press a button and voila.
Some may say its expensive or not 100% accurate but i tried the gps option and im convinced thats the best way to do it. -
If it keeps track well and I don’t have to do paper I’d pay. The paper never seems to get done then the end of the quarter I have to do it.i do the same lanes all the time so figuring it out at the end no too bad. If I got a audit I’d probably be in trouble.
