I HATE when they do that! I have NEVER made it back to the terminal in time for the grill out.

"Leftovers in the breakroom fridge"......usually just the chopped onions. All the good stuff went home with the office drones.

    Even the cheese.

Amazing the amount of good will "mileage" you can get with a well-placed pizza or box of fancy pastries....

Well there are companies that give drivers a pat on the back for this week. And others that have cookouts and gifts everyday of this week. Legend has that a driver asked a dispatcher what was going on for appreciation week. The dispatcher replied you get to come to work this week, now get down the road!!!

Most of the society in the U.S. Could give a rats arse about a driver. Truckers are a problem to some ppl. Our trucks are slow, drivers smell, and drivers empty there trash in parking lots.

Unfortunately a lot of this is true, I’ve been driving 21 years and a lot of days I can absolutely see why 4 wheelers hate trucks.

This isn’t directed at anyone in particular-

I haven’t been out here that long: it’s amazing what passes for “exceptional” on the high end.
My truck isn’t slow, I shower ever day, show up clean n buttoned up in clean equipment, trash gets put in dumpsters n customers don’t see trash, on time, good communication....

    “YOU’RE a truck driver??”
They say it with incredulity- I don’t honestly take it like a compliment; I think the standard that has been Set is pathetic.

You all want to be seen as a professional? ####in ACT LIKE ONE.

Here's a good one. The scale house on 80 in Truckee had a driver's appreciation thing setup. They had a BBQ soda's and water for everyone (donated by WalMart). Like there is enough parking for more than 10 trucks there after all the displays they had setup. The only thing it did for me was backup all the trucks trying to cross the scale and the bug inspection right after it.

Our company had a bunch of “Driver Appreciation “ events scattered around the terminals, which I couldn’t make.
Went in to recently to do paperwork for annual review, and not a thank you, screw off, nothing.
