That sprayer must have some pretty wide arms, doesn't look like you had to make many passes.

The boom width on the sprayer I'm running is 132'. That field there is a half section (320 acres) and it only took 20 passes to complete it.

Yes that's correct. On the Deere GPS system 0 degrees is north/south line and 90 degrees is east/west line. All you have to do is program in a certain degree you want to run something ( whether it be a combine, sprayer, or tractor) and it will follow that line. We run RTK and is pretty much on the money and very accurate.

 

We use machine control GPS in some of our equipment, and vertical control is essential. Do you have to build a 3d surface of your fields, or can you drive around the perimeter and any avoidance areas within the field with a rover on say a four wheeler and save that as your design?

 

We can build boundaries and outline obstacles in fields from satellite imagery at home on the computer using JD software called apex and incorporate that into the monitors of the equipment. Each GPS receiver has a terrain compensation module (tcm) built in it and will adjust to uneven ground or hills and maintain a straight line.

When we get to the ends of fields or if there is water hole and rock piles in the way we have to grab the steering wheel and manually steer until we get turned around or clear of that obstacle. Once you get back on line or your next pass you resume the autosteer.

I remind him he sent an email to Unilever last Saturday and they didn't want to let me in, and he sent an email to a stop in Olive Branch that didn't know I was picking up. Bob's assistant getting an email doesn't do me any good if the person doing the unloading/loading doesn't know to be there. I'm the one getting up at 1 am, not you. Told him I might be bringing it back if no one is there. Here's hoping for a early day.
