After you’re done telling me how much of a ####### ####ing piece of #### window licking steering wheel holder I am, I have a question for you. Did you stop at all during your 8 hours of driving leading up to this?

10 rest period can be started with PC. In my situation. I had to do a post trip inspection. 10 had to wait till that done.
The whole point is the peoplenet abolishing PC when any clock runs to zero. I had no choice.
I’m forced to go PC before any clock runs to zero. Otherwise it doesn’t even allow me PC miles to go to dinner while on my 10. -
Whether on paper or elog, you can still bend that fine line.
Which I why I hate the elog mandate.
Intervention was mandated for Werner at first back in 89 as a punishment to keep the doors open. They are the reason Elog exists. Only carrier that should be on elog are those who are being punished, or those that want elog.
I hate things unjustly being crammed into our job, because of those who cant do their job. -
I forgot to mention that I think you must do a post trip before going to of duty PC status. This is crucial.

Try reading the thread to get it straight.

I did read the thread. I do have a question though... did you stop at all during your 8 hours of driving? If yes then how many times and for how long each time?
Sorry for being a bit harsh in my original reply, but I’m trying to help you and anyone else that’s been in this situation. -
Under the FMCSA new ruling on pc miles and getting to safe haven. It’s obvious if someone does this. Then goes on duty inspection. Then off duty pc for a 10. Obvious.
I do think it reasonable to use that for 17 miles which cuts down HOS for the day considerably. That’s all it does is make the day shorter considerably for the driver. That is personal use only. -
Not answering a closed ended question aimed at...
Let’s jump ahead of you. If all drivers ever did was to drive for 8 to 8.5 hours a day. There would be no logs. No rules. No discussion.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Oh and BTW... I get paid by the load. Doesn’t matter how much time or how many miles I drive. I still get paid the same.
Oldironfan Thanks this. -
Let’s say I did make it back to the terminal. Right at the time the 8 hour clock went to zero.
The PC taken off the screen by peoplenet.
I would have been forced to sit at the terminal for a half hour.
Then I could go on duty post trip inspection.
Then go off duty PC for my 10 and go to dinner.
