Truckers...why?

Old thread. But this is hilarious.

 

C'mon. This is senseless BS. I can't fatham the thought that drivers would do this to a 4wheeler for no reason. I see it happening if that 4wheeler pissed off a trucker further back and he radio'd forward "### alert". Regardles of the kind of day I'm having I'm not playing with a 4wheeler that can make a decision that is gonna sacrifice my career. I hope the drivers writing this would decide on whether or not they are PROfessionals or novice.

You'd be surprised. A former driver for our company once showed up at our yard on Christmas Eve pulling a flat-bed with his van chained to the deck, asking if he could use our dock and gangway to unload the van.

According to his story, the truck belonged to his friend, who'd hired an imbecile to drive it. While dead-heading north through KY late at night, a car began tailgating said Imbecile, flicked on their high beams and followed him for several minutes. The car then lowered their beams, pulled out in the passing lane, pulled up beside the drive axles, and lingered there. When the car again flicked on their high beams, said Imbecile deliberately swerved to the left, passing fulling into the passing lane, forcing the car off the road, off the shoulder, and into the median.

Unfortunately, that car was a KY State Trooper.

The trooper claimed he was inspecting the truck as it traveled, and was using his high beams to illuminate aspects of the truck he needed to see more clearly. Regardless, the Imbecile was stopped several miles later and immediately pulled from the truck without question. The truck was impounded and released for $2,000 US, and our ex-driver was asked to drive down and pick it up.

You can't make this **** up.

Thats a good one!!!! I think we are in agreement 1. The Imbecile was reacting to the 4 wheelers continuous high beems. 2. The Imbecile did not just make a decision that "here comes a car I'm gonna run him off the road" 3. I agree (we) drivers do some wild stuff

I think that is Illegal for the trooper to "inspect" while moving. I know it is illegal for him to use high beams when it can affect others ability to see.

That driver must have other issues (aside from his joblessness) thanks for the humor!!!!

 

Im sure you know when a truck is on a hill, they slow down. most of us stay right so others can pass, but if youre climbing at say 40 and the truck in front of you is doing 20, if you slow down youre doing 20 for the rest of the hill too. so if may have taken forever to get around, but they were just trying to pass before they lost their momentum.

 

Maybe you have a sign on your car, LOL, theres just alot of jerks out there,in 4 and 18 wheels.

 

Dont know why those drivers would do that, most company trucks out there are governed at 62-64 miles an hour, so if 1 truck is going 63 and a 64 mph truck is trying to pass, it may take 5 miles to pass, i see alot of that and it gets frustrating.

 

The company I drive for, the trucks are governed at 79 miles an hour. Hopefully it will stay that way.
