Why would an EMPTY/UNLADEN normal width/length trailer need to take a restricted route? Why can they not follow the same route to the Port as all the other trucks.

They wouldn't but but if go you back and read, you never said anything about "normal width" trailers. It's possible that the empty 48 or 53 ft RGN's that you were seeing on that route were over width and permitted on that route. Which the exact point that IH was trying to make. Even if they weren't bannered and flagged, they still may have been over width and permitted for that route.
Because their trailers might be over width and their permit may have routed them that way.Last edited: Apr 4, 2018

I didn't know about this shortcot. Thanks for the warning.
City Baltimore has routed Mr around the other way. Instead of letting me run in on the city streets as requested. The city has routed me up through the first toll gate then exit to the port.
What a scam.
Thanks again for the warning. -
If you're going to Dundalk Marine Terminal, coming from the TA onto I-95,don't go as far as the toll both. Get off on Keith Ave.,the last exit before the toll.xsetra Thanks this.

I was leaving Peter Springs this morning and lovely Baltimore City has decided to make some more road restrictions. Everywhere I turned there seemed to be a new camera and signs. I got fed up after too many attempts and the feeling of being a rat trapped in a maze caused me to make an executive decision. Snap a picture all you want, Baltimore.

Good. Screw Baltimore.
snowman_w900, rank and DSK333 Thank this. -
He sounds like one of those guys we run across on the radio from time to time. “You guys can’t run in two lanes, thats illegal.” “You guys can’t have two loads that close to each other”
My typical response is amazement that he can read my permit from his truck. Usually guys dragging boxes that “used to do oversize loads all the time”snowman_w900 and IH Truck Guy Thank this.
