My empty weight in what I cal "normal configuration" which is tri axle, no flip, deck in and wheel covers installed and all my gear I'm 52,400 vs. 47,800 with the old trailer. Beam, flip, 4th axle, no wheel covers I'm 51,200, Teh fli and axle add about 2900.

In Ohio I don't lose any capacity, as long as it over a 48" spread you get the max so 60'000 on a tri and 80,000 on a quad. I wanted the deck length for trench boxes and stuff as well as multi machine loads. A 740 is my biggest concern, I might need the 4th axle to scale them, right now with a 740 backed right up to the neck I'm right at 60,000 on the trailer. So i'm not sure if they scale.

I’d love to yank two-axle RGNs and step decks more often now.

But I ain’t touching these multi-axle gooseneck flips axle Jeep behemoths for another few years. I’ll leave that to the professionals ;)

JD, do you work for a construction dealer like Cat or whatnot. Or are you just a small equipment hauling outfit?

Last time I was coming outta the house I noticed a bunch of multi axle Ring Power Caterpillar guys in day cab Pete’s and Western Stars moving equipment all over I75 and I10. Figured they just bring stuff in for repairs and whatnot, maybe some job site to job site moves... nice local job I’d imagine.

I work for a construction company. Those Cat guys in my experience generally haul rental equipment, not saying they don’t haul equipment in and out for repairs but around here it’s not their main business. It’s a good job but around here at least it doesn’t pay much. If I’m lucky I’ll never pull a super trailer again.
