Ok. Long as it ain't your favorite Mustang dash too, it'll be alright. I guess. I get the idea that Peterbilt was inferring but I think what they did weakened their own brand. Same thing that I think when I see a Ford pickup with Harley plastered all over it from the factory. It's neat the first time or two and then ..... I start thinking about the "co-branding" efforts of the Big Corporations and I always find it off-putting. Maybe it's just me but it also makes me think about the point that Russ made earlier about when you got the advantages of the electronic tuning without the Nanny baloney. There has to be a portion of the public who loves one piece of the combo and is opposed to the other brand that the Corporation is linking itself with.

^^^^What he said.
There's a big difference between dusty/dirty because you're working your equipment and driving a 10 wheel trashcan. -
Mine too.ShooterK2, OLDSKOOLERnWV, cke and 9 others Thank this.

Seems like I remember you had a brownie in one of your trucks, no?
I am putting an 18918B back in the blue truck with .86 and .73. The old one was a RTOF 15618, which only had a .86, or .85 (can't remember which right now), and I am looking forward to the new one as well, especially with 4.10s. -
That ought to be a nice up grade for you. Sounds like its gonna be a sweet ride when done.Zeviander, ShooterK2, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 15 others Thank this.

If it ever gets there. Got the new cab air ride freed up and ready to adjust, only to find that evidently a 379 sits lower to the frame than a 378....by about a couple of inches by the looks of it. So, I guess I will be building a spacer plate between the top of the air ride and the bottom of the cab. Good thing I am not in a hurry huh?
-
Here you go @stwik! Next time your in the area. Oh never mind it’s a 10 sorry
-
Yes they do, you're correct. I had a 378 with a small flat top bunk on it long time ago. Compared to a 379 with the same bunk, it was 2 to 3 inches taller. Also, the hood on a 378 is fiberglass where a short hood 379 is not fiberglass but it is the same length, 379 cab mounts set lower.
I'll bet you can build a spacer like you said tho and make it work.Last edited: Sep 23, 2018

I hope so. When I ordered it I called them to confirm, oh well. I probably can't take it back now, and it is all painted so we'll try the spacer idea.
Thanks Snowman!Zeviander, ShooterK2, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 15 others Thank this. -
My 85 has a 7150 spicer (air shifted) behind a 18913. I miss my 3.70's in that truck no doubt. Fact is I still miss that whole rig every day. No matter what I do to this one it wont ever be my little red flat top.
