Mechanical rgn sagging -- stretched locking plate?

Could be the some of welds are broken on the one pin that is higher than the other. Rather than the dog bone stretching , the pins are welded in but if the trailer has been over loaded they can fail.

Are the pins retractable, thats what it looks like which changes my whole stance on line boring andd pin hole shape.

the pins are solidly welded in. I will inspect the top pins to see if they somehow moved. I hope not!

Ron, I had the right side pin on my 9 axle start breaking out. I first noticed the pin "tilting" a few degrees. Cozad replaced the pin for a mere $7000.00, but there is a lot of labor involved. I think those pins are at least 18" long. And the trailer was 22 yrs old and had been over loaded many times by the previous owner from what I had heard. I never overloaded it. Unless you consider the 245B I hauled up & down the river haul road all those times or the D-10Ns or the Case CX800...……. And I am probably the only one on here that has had a link fail with a 35 ton load on, but that was a Murray issue. Had that happened with any truck but my 72, I'd been dead!!

I went over to talk to PHH in Phoenix about my trailer when I had a lean and was looking for some help.
They were doing the pins on one of their tripe 16s - it is a huge job!
I am heading your way with a D10T2 I am loading Wednesday in IL. Going to Peterson in Sn Leandro but thinking I am coming over Donner. -

Here's my story these days. Been full time on the lobed and end dump for over a month while they try to find a regular driver. No end in sight but I said I needed more $$$ and I got what I wanted without even a blink.

Line boring is way overkill, it's not a precision fitted part, the holes are just cut out of plate from the factory.
Personally, I'd build it up with weld and grind it to fit as needed. Just welding that shim in there won't work long term. There is quite a bit of pressure on that pin and will eventually destroy that thin shim.
Is it actually stretched or the hole worn? -
It is hard to say but I would think stretched.
