04 Volvo Starting troubleshooting

    I have a Volvo 04 with volvo engine 465 and from a few days ago, star after 5 or 7 seconds cranking, look like not fuel at injectors and then start and run normally. Can be the fuel pump?

    Yes it's one possibility, but there are some others possibility, air aspiration in the fuel system, overflow valve, one way check valve on the primary filter (fuel Pro if equipped), injector cupper sleeve.

    Check your engine speed sensors. There is two of them one in front of the engine and one on the crank wheel. When one of them fails it takes few turns before computer learns how fast your engine is turning and fires up. They not expensive.

    Thanks, I left it at the shop yesterday, he told me the same, maybe the speed sensor. Exactly like you said: take time for fire up, with fluid start take same time, not fire to make the explosion at first turn. Tomorrow I'll know and post it what happens .Thanks

    Mechanic replaced the overflow valve and now start normally.
