Anyone have an idea of a good local company I can work with as an owner operator in the Philadelphia area. I know there some good companies out there in this area but I need some guidance. Please no rail or port work I’m sick of that.

Not sure on the rates or anything but I see some owner operator trucks hauling for Sam Coraluzzo trucks. What are you looking to do dry van?
-
Yes dry van

One thing I've noticed is I'll see a few trucks pulling for one outfit then some time later I'll see another companies numbers on the door and then not too long after I see the trucks listed for sale on Craigslist or Facebook.
I think dry van work is too saturated around here, and if it's good, nobody is going to post it on a forum. This is why I've stayed as a company driver, I don't think I'd buy a truck to just be another dry van hauler around here. I'd be willing to look into tanks, end dumps, etc.Opendeckin Thanks this. -
What side of the river are you on? You want Philly or Camden/Salem counties?

Check out west motor freight.

Not to much.I know they do bottled water and Lowe’s.They pay I think 70%.I use to park in there yard in Boyertown,pa but it’s really all I know.
-
West Motor pays 70% and has local and regional options pulling their trailers.
Dispatch and office staff are easy to get along with. I thought they were a good company to work with overall. Always treated me with respect.
I ran Lowes DC to stores in western PA, MD and WV. It paid decent but if it was perfect I’d still be there. Not sure if the rates went up since last year on the Lowes account.
A few of the guys I talked to that ran the water loads said the rates were less than stellar but I don’t know exactly what they pay.
If you’re flexible on not pulling a van, what about Penn Tank lines hauling fuel locally?jdiesel3406 Thanks this. -
What about Duie Pyle? Or Deweys Pile as they used to be jokingly known as. They used to have an O/O division. Still see them everywhere, been around forever.
