Making money with a pickup?

That would be called hot shot. It's a cutthroat industry from what I hear.

Remember, if it was easy to go into and easy to make money, others would have done it already.

 

Look for an Acme or United Vision. They run lots of pick ups.

 

You can make a few dollars but you will not get rich.
You can Hot Shot your pickup and put lots of miles on it. I would dump the bumper pull trailer for a goose neck 40 ft long double axel trailer.
Pass on the cheap loads ( they got plenty )
From what I have seen the Dodge Diesels seem to hold up the best.

 

I see these guys all the time on I10, and was thinking there getting paid to pull that stuff. I see some with the nice trailers on those dodges with the double axles pulling drilling bits, and oilfield pipes all the time.

 

Avoid lease roads if you drive a Chevy.

 

On the older Chevys.2011 and up they beefed them up tremendously.The fix on the older ones were tie rod sleeves.
