Fri done and what a day. Got on the Skid Pad and what a blast. Made several different manuvers at various speeds. To know what this is, do a search on youtube for crowder skid pad. The one where you run thru the cones, push in clutch and turn hard left .. and the passenger locks the trailer brakes for a moment to create a slide .. is thrilling .. especially at 25+mph! and the thought of that happening in the 'real world' quite scary. It was a good lesson.

Now we have only Sat remaining. We will have a written test, pre-trip test, backing test, and final drive test. Then we have Sun off and report back to Conway on Mon for final paperwork and assignment to our trainers.

Wow, what an exciting, scary, thrilling, great week it has been.
    Thanks for all the encouragement!

    Great work Steve.

I'm gonna go check that video out and youtube. Sounds like a "change your pants" experience.

Great job Steve. It sounds like you have the hard tests behind you now. That must had been so much fun to hit that skid pad like that. I watched those videos and I got to say that looks like so much fun. But like you I dont think it would be fun at 50 mph or faster and tha happening on the high way. Let us know how the assignment of the Finishers go. Im interested in getting a non smoking finisher. Christine asked me if I smoked but I dont think that was for getting with a non smoking Finisher. Let me know if they give you that option. Good luck on Saturday!

Well that's that! I took my final tests today and did great. All the stress and challenge in the first days paid off as I cruised through the finals .. apparently there is a "method to the madness" .. hehehe

We have Sun off and report to Conway in Joplin (still at Crowder in Neosho now) on Monday for Smith Method training (Safe Driving) and some paperwork. Could be on the road with trainer/finisher as early as Tue. Plus we'll be getting another $300 so the week of training/orientation will have paid us $400 .. not bad :)

I'm fighting a cold and not feeling well so I'll post more later .. though I am sure feeling better now ...

    I feel for ya :yes2557:

That is probably in the top 3 for most boring classes I have attended in my life and in the military, you have some doozies. It's just painful hahahaha.

Congrats on making it through everything else.
