I consider California to be in the same class as Hawaii - off the left coast somewhere that you cant drive to
So LS still covers the cargo insurance then? Thats part of what I wondered about. I was thinking that maybe since it was my trailer, I have to cover the cargo in it as well. Good to know, thanks. I will check with OOIDA on covering the box, thats no biggie.

Ron With big dog transportations and Landstar, my experience you can do mostly dry van, it's who you are working with at Landstar and what their connections are. Ex: we move both dry van and reefers, let me know if I can help.Last edited by a moderator: Sep 20, 2018

Thank you Ron,
My limited experience in calling agents to see if they will load our reefer when a van was called for has all been negative. I don't want to judge to early but our experience so far is that we would have been a little better off pulling a dry van or Landstar's vans. For example we are delivering in two days on the east coast and there are 26 loads that will load a reefer in a 200 mile radius. When you add vans to the list the count goes up to 169.Last edited by a moderator: Sep 20, 2018

Well, you know the old saying. You can lead a horse to water..........Jarhed1964 and CorsairFanboy Thank this.

So does that mean that dry van is the way to go vs reefer at landstar? Wether it be their trailer or yours?Jarhed1964 Thanks this.

I will let someone else answer this as I need to give it more time and get to the point where agents are calling us.
Jarhed1964 and CorsairFanboy Thank this. -
You can lead a horse to water but you can not make him drink. However, you can drown his ###.Jarhed1964 Thanks this.

Either way if you're making money don't worry about it. I like reefer better than vans (less small hole in the wall type of places to back into)Jarhed1964 and kbarttt Thank this.
