I think it's the curse of being in a small market. Prices have gone up, but people aren't as willing to pay them here so builders aren't producing in any kind of volume. Then poor driver here has to spend quite a few days per week staring at an empty trailer.

I'm hoping some of our big customers get some good winter contracts so I don't go too stir crazy.

No such thing as an ugly truck or an ugly woman. You just have to look longer/harder to find the beauty in some of them.

The exceptions that prove this are any Volvo and my big sister.

Had lunch with a real estate broker friend of mine today. She thinks that things here in Nor Cal have peaked and the bust is imminent. I've about decided to keep on as a hired hand til after the first of the year.

Followed this guy outta ft smith. I turned and come through town on 64. He pulls straight out in front of me. I flash my lights and try to get his attention. He is looking straight ahead. So I bump the train horn and do the thumb toward the trailer deal. He waves me on. Go away I can't be bothered. Naturally no radio, but hey who needs a radio I got Waze or WTF ever it is

That’s how all of our graders are set up.

We discussed a 9 wide, problem is it’s added weight and since I run the same areas and I’m known to local law enforcement all’s it would take is for one to figure it out then I’d be busted all the time for running in the dark or over 55 or whatever they feel like.

The problem with those fender covers is they weigh 1400 pounds.

Brake job on inboard drums on a set of doubles. 10 brake kits, 10 wheel seals, 10 S-cams all in a stone/dirt right next to a busy double railroad track, 50' foot away. Some say slave labor, I call it a childhood.

I can’t stand the 990 personally I also personally can’t understand why people hate the narrow cabs. I was pleased to hear Kenworth say the W9 wasn’t going anywhere. They also said it’s the longest produced vehicle model ever, came out in 61.
