At any temperature I need to use my CPAP when I sleep. And at any temperature that drains my batteries. I've tried sleeping woithut idling twice. Both times resulted it waking up and then waiting over an hour for a service truck to show up to slave off my truck.
I still say that if a state is going to ban idling, they need to provide a free alternative. No, I don't have any idea what that would be. But then, I'm not the one wanting to ban a person from getting their proper rest.

Had not thought about the cpap machines. I wonder if there is a provision in the law for that?

Shore power is power supplied to the truck from an external source.
Idleaire and a truck wired to run in cab electrical devices from an extension cord plugged into the truck are two examples.

I use a CPAP machine with a heater for the water and I have it plugged into a 400 watt inverter. Never kills the batteries but if I leave it on longer than 10 hrs the truck barely starts. You might want to either downsize inverter for CPAP only or have your batteries checked. Good luck

The inverter I use is 300W, hard wired in by the company. ( 2003 Freightliner )
I do think there's a problem with the batteries. Getting the company to look at them is a whole other problem. :)
But that still doesn't belay the fact that these states are restricting drivers the ability to get federally mandated rest without providing any alternatives to idling.
To my eyes, they are attempting to break federal laws with these restrictive state laws on idling and restricted parking.

You are still able to get the rest by going to a motel, Correct?

Then you might see where they are heading toward. After all, truckers are wealthy cash cow ATM's.
