Even paid in cash there should be some paper trail. Some companies don't care that much and will take your word for it.

I cannot answer your question, but I can tell you this (and I'm sure things have changed, so take it with a grain of salt).

The company I'm working for was heavy into the frac sand up here in PA when I started. Shell was a big player, and paid about the best at the time. For us to get on the Shell jobs, they wanted all of our insurance info(to be expected), driver's records, CSA scores, criminal backround checks, and when we all took a crap last. The process was a real pain for the boss, and he almost told them to forget it.

But, jump through the hoops properly, and it was very, very rewarding.

Like i said, I'm sure it's different now.

 

OP...I'd worry more about the insurance company your prospective employer uses.
If you're trying to run some kind of con you might possibly get it by your boss but you'll never get it past the insurance company. They have investigators and they use them.
Why not play it straight? In the long run you'll be better off. Any company that will hire you with questionable holes in your history probably isn't somebody you want to work for any way.

 

First of all, if your experience isn’t verifiable then it doesn’t count.

Second, you understand that a LLC is not the same as a DOT number, right? If you say you own ABC Trucking, LLC you’re still gonna have to provide information on the company that you ran for.

You can search for any LLC or corporation online and find out all the public information on the company pretty easily. They’ll know five minutes into their vetting process that you weren’t completely honest on your application.

Play it straight. The consequences in this industry are far too severe to be trying some con job like you’re describing.
