Anyone have any idea? We have a 2012 Prostar with the Maxxforce 13 and a ten peed transmission. Looking to get a decent OTC code reader.
Thanks.
What is the best code reader for the International Prostar

I would like to know the answer to this as well.

I think you need a lap top with specific programs for International. The Maxfart is a CAT block.

I don't mind buying a computer, cord & program, I just would like to know the best one to buy
Oldironfan Thanks this. -
Diamond Logic is what International uses for the cab controller in the ProStar, I would assume it can be used for the motor diagnostics too. If your smart, get rid of the Maxfart before it bankrupts you. Just my .02

Maxxforce 13 IS NOT a cat block. The few maxxforce 15s built however were a C15 cat block and head.
Oldironfan and Heavyd Thank this. -

A quality adapter we use is Nexiq USB Link 2 mfg part number 124032 and cost $676. As for the software Diamond Logic Builder (DLB) can deal with body controller & Navistar Engine Diagnostics, or NEDS for short, has replaced ServiceMaxx as of February 2017. Both of the software programs are 12 month subscriptions and are about $800 a year each. Price & Info is from diesellaptops.com. I would recommend if you buy the adapter to tie strap it to the case. Cut the sides of the case to allow the wires to go out each side without sharp bends. Tie strap the wires to the case so the wires are not being pulled at the connector. Protect the wires as they come through case.

Absolutely fantastic idea! The cable ends get so much abuse and break. This is a great way to protect them!
