I've been pouring back over the forums trying to get a better sense of schools, if I do the 160 and want to get further certifications do I just go back to a school later? Any special certs for the intermodal and or tankers or is the 160 enough for those?

The certifications for endorsements are done at the DMV, not the school.
The school might do something like forklift certification or things like that, but the endorsements are separate from cdl school.
TWIC is also seperate in that you must go to the TWIC Office to apply for that.

Robertson's pays minimum wage while training. Usually two weeks, sometimes more.

You'll have an automatic restriction on your license

    Chinatown Thanks this.

Sometimes you have no option but to stay. And then other times you are afraid of change

So I just talked with Schneider and because I'm former military they say all my school is payed plus $2k BAH in Miami for the school and then I'm guaranteed a job here locally, plus an additional 300 a week on the paycheck because of being in the military after I'm hired for 1year. Sounds too good to be true but maybe not, anyone here gone through this?

I would get every word in writing before packing a bag.

Yes, I was thinking exactly this. How does one go about getting it in writing though? Do they email something you sign?

Since you aren't too far from Fontana check out Roadmaster driving school and see what they can do for you.

So just finished my call with Schneider and they informed me I could go to any school I want, they are sending me a pre-hire letter and once I finish they say I'm hired. Either way its win win because if they are full of #### I'll still have my CDL. Thanks everyone for the great advice, now to find a school! Any recommendations that accept GI Bill?
