Personally, I only fill up either at the completion of a load, OR after reloading and scaling. Unless I have to fuel going in to get free parking (some places give free parking if you fill 50-75 gallons), I don't top off on route, unless it's a 1500 mile or more run, and then, I do it when I pull in or prepare to leave(as part of pti)

These guys saying they do 650-700 miles must be driving in the southwest. East coast, actually anything east of IL or LA I would say average speed is 50mph considering construction zones accidents etc... Lucky to get 500 miles.
5 minute pee breaks? Dont know how thats possible unless you pee on the side of the road (illegal).Harita Parson and bryan21384 Thank this. -
I don't pre plan much. Except where I will sleep, and fuel. Everything else is a shot in the dark. If I park to sleep In same town I pick up, or deliver, I may just use yard move to get to customer.
Harita Parson Thanks this. -
I dont do Speedway any more. Their big reciept now shows time...

I can run 1500 miles (and have 50 gal reserve) on 250 gal tanks. I always fill up to full after 34 reset (helps skip lines) and skip the lines. I need to hit my deliveries early, and grab the next load / get shuteye / keep it moving while elog drivers look for parking spot (lol)
I only run 1500-2000 miles/weekHarita Parson and MBAngel Thank this. -
I'm using travel planners apps. But not everybody can use smartphone apps. They are simple but not for all people. I think it's very useful to plan your life not only traveling. So, as for me, there is a problem solving for those people. My husband uses just the pocket notebook which he uses even for planning our car travelling. That's Field Notes Expedition Notebook https://www.amazon.com/Field-Notes-FNC-17-Expedition-3Pk/dp/B00AQO8Q88
If you want to choose some another for yourself I can recommend you to read some reviews of pocket notebooks. The 10 best pocket notebooks for 2018 for example.
Wish you to get more experience from your new wayfarings!

Why is time on the receipt a big deal? You're still running paper? Besides, what is the likelihood DOT is going to ask for your fuel receipts? "Driver, bring your log book, CDL, medical card, bills, and fuel receipts."
-
When did you start driving truck??
Yesterday?? -
Brother I've been in the game almost 9 years. Far from the most seasoned, but I think I'm past the level of steering wheel holder. Time on a receipt means nothing to me now since I'm on elogs. I've been inspected many times, and they've never asked to look at fuel receipts. So excuse me for sounding like a rookie
-
Well they can and will ask for receipts.

This i know.....but how many officers want to do that much work? He/she would have to be a real prick, or the driver is acting like a real big shot to make the officer determined to find something
