No I originally left my home state and went with a major flatbed company in the Midwest for training. I then did OTR with them for as long as I could stand them. Afterwards I could pick and choose any flatbed company I wanted and moved on. But at first I had to sacrifice. I found my first company right here on the homepage of this website. Try that.
Just got My CDL. Now what? Looking for advice.

Can u drop a few names or message me if thats better ....
but quick question . So flat beds DO pay more because of the Physical Labour.??? right?
... I actualy like the idea of doing physical work in stead of just sitting all the time.... and the different aspect is appealing..... dang I'm easily swayed .... -
Stevens Transport and FFE both have tankers in the Texas oil fields.
FFE (Frozen Food Express) is mostly reefers, but does have water tankers in the Texas oil fields.

For my flatbed training I went with Melton. They will hire you. If you can pass a hair follicle test. You can apply here: Trucking Jobs, CDL Training, Tests, Forum - TruckersReport
And also go to Craigslist in your home city. -
yeah not a druggie here already took a test to give to them
even though they give me another test...totally can pass...
was just googling some names and melton came up .... some other did too..... Is Melton national or just in a few states or?
you know of any other decent company as well .... as far as you've heard?
Ill defiantly check them out tomorrow via phone.. and craigslist i always forget to check them out.... I'm old school ... from the analog times .haah -
Melton is 48 states. Try maverick. Try TMC. Maybe System.
-
thanks..... ill be calling all tomorrow k.
u know anything bout Western ex or Prime? pro or cons -
Both those are not my recommendations. Western Express could be the worst flatbed company there is. Prime pushes you into a lease/purchase scam.
But again, we are talking temporary job here. Goal is to get experience. Some people like Prime. -
Western is that bad? they were the first i was going to call. tanks for the heads up -
Look into BST (Busines Solutions Transport) and WBT (We'll Be There).
One of these companies was doing the route, but I heard they fired the guy because of damage and was behind on his logs.
Must know how to pad wrap and strap in machines, as they do not like damages.
If you are good at the game Tetris, then you should be able to do this job! lol
