Be careful doing this.
I set up through a local customer. They wanted extra insurance. So I paid for a year up front.
Once everything was said and done, the freight manager started sending me load offers.
100 mile loads to Lowes with appointments paying $250. No thanks. And on top of that, I tried to lock down a good faith load and after two days of no rate con I just said sc rew it.
Customer is Oldcastle. They ship brick blocks out of NC and SC.
I'm set up with other direct shippers but the Oldcastle thing has me thinking running spot is better for now.
We'll see.
Also, send a bill for full amount. Write TONU across the invoice.
wel. it happened again.

Me, I book loads that deliver same day or next day, less than 250 loaded miles, and pay a round trip rate. If I can find a back haul, I'm that much ahead. If I can't, then I've already been paid to run home empty to pick up the next load.whoopNride and DSK333 Thank this. -

Who hauls that crap for so cheap? And why? Guys must have to do 3 loads a day but with Lowe's appt times, I just can't see it happening.
