I don't see how you can get into that situation and not know what to expect. They (Prime) explain it quite well and there is a test at the end to make sure you understand what is going on. You can't just blunder in and get into it with just a signature... There are other classes to sit through on top of that.

Just the reversal of misclassification of these "contractors"will benefit the industry as a whole.
Having these fleece deals depresses prevailing wage. Remove the illegal practice and let free markets dictate wages. -
Do you completely furnish a house from a rent-to-own store and then go to court because you think you were over charged?
-
I read about it earlier this year, and basically he became a lease operator out of training, failed and switched to a company driver. I guess he stilled owed Prime from his time as Lease operator and they began deducting those charges from his pay as a company driver....
I'd imagine the scotus will run in his favor... -
They also replaced a very large percentage of them with DIY screens. It's business. You start telling a business who they can and can't hire, what they have to pay them and what benefits they have to offer in the form of laws then they literally kill the free market. We're so close to full on Socialism it's not even funny.Last edited: Oct 4, 2018
Czar_Zero, Crude Truckin', StrokerTSi and 2 others Thank this. -
I don’t think finding a bunch of people to enter into a bad business arrangement means the l/p megas are misclassifying labor. I don’t feel being in a l/p and having forced dispatch makes you an employee.
There is nothing that says we have to make minimum wage. I don’t see this being a good thing if this guy wins. I don’t see it helping wages for employees at all. At most it will make the megas redo their l/p contracts and they will still find people to sign up every day. -
I thought you had a few drivers running under your authority that got paid with the 1099 scheme.
-
So did this guy owe them for school? Did he fail at a lease and owe them money? So many details left out.

Amazon workers got their $15, but lost other benefits as a result. So in the end, it was a wash, at best. Likely a loss for the worker.
