Autonomous trucks are the least of your worries (fears).
Very seriously view all of this.

Eventually we’re gonna be like pilots who troubleshoot and turn knobs rather than drive. My Dad is a commercial pilot and he flies the plane manually about 5 minutes from takeoff to landing. As soon as you get to x number of feet you turn some knobs, kick the feet up, and look for flashing lights and sounds.

So much for you having job security, LOL -
A pipe dream, now go put the pipe down and come back to planet earth
tommymonza Thanks this. -

Within eight years driverless trucks will be making long-haul point-to-point, city-to-city runs. Local drivers will make the local deliveries for awhile longer.

Robots rule!!
No more dealing with a trashed sleeper, Robots don't use piss jugs.
No more dealing with getting calls in the middle of the night about drivers not being able to deliver.
No more dealing with arguing with brokers because the driver did something.
No more dealing with having a driver complain about parking.
No more dealing with HOS, robots can drive 24/7.
No more dealing with paying drivers.
No more dealing with people who can't find the oil dipstick even if they are staring at the BIG yellow colored handled on the end of the tube that says "OIL".
More money for me, write offs for the cost of the robots.
Robots RULE!!!!
