2012 - Volvo VNL - Drivers Door will not close well -

    Hello drivers,

    Drivers door will not close well - it needs some type of adjustment.

    is there a trick to adjusting these doors to close well?

    Slam it harder. I have 2013 with same problem. The passenger side is like mercedes.

    LOL Yes thats true the passenger door closes like a Corvette )

    Still open to suggestions to FIX these Volvo Driver Side Door

    door latch is bent and worn out replace door latch, or there is something i can do buti can not explain to you, if you look at the latch where the tongue is, you can see the metal i deformed over there all you have to do is take a small saw of file and grind the latch so the tongue moves freely.

    It’s true. I drove a 2015 Volvo with the exact same problem.Driver’s side door looked like the door wasn’t latching properly,passenger side closed fine. At first I thought maybe the door was misaligned or the truck was rebuilt after a wreck.

    I would check the striker adjustment. The striker is mounted on the cab and is what the latch in the door holds onto. You’ll need a T40 to do it. Loosen all 3 bolts and move it towards the outside of the truck slightly. Be advised that if you go too much, the door will close super easily but you will develop a wind noise so it may take a bit of playing.

    Thanks High Roller going to try this before replacing DOOR LATCH.
