They worry it for you. You’ve nothing to worry about. You’re covered!
Melton isn’t bad at all - they were my favorite of 25+ solid biggy company offers I had out of school. Ab fab - my 1st and only big company pick out of many. I attended 2 days of orientation with them before heading home to a last minute local job offer. Melton was the most appealing to me of the big companies. I only left because OTR was a last resort for me. I was holding out for something local and gave up patience a week too soon.
For me, Melton, that was a creme de la creme offer for a bigger OTR company. Truly stellar.
They’ll provide you with a decent hotel room, transport locally, breakfast and lunch and a bus trip there. I opted to rent a car and they reimbursed me for a certain amount.
As a matter of fact - they were even gracious enough to pay my way home when I was truthful about getting a different offer. That’s classy!
If circumstances changed and I became interested in OTR - I’d certainly go with Melton. They told me I’m welcome back anytime. I still get calls from them. I believe they’re fabulous.
A classmate of mine went to the same orientation date as me, continued on and absolutely loves it.Last edited: Oct 8, 2018
Reason for edit: Spellingplankton and BlueThunderr Thank this. -
It didn't arrive.

P.S. - I left Melton to do local flatbed with zero driving exp. Relax! I’d wager OTR flatbed is less stressful than local (9 coils today).
Best of luck! -
cool thanks for the info. much appreciatedGüera Thanks this.

One of my questions was idle policy/APU cause I have a CPAP I gotta run at night.
-
Someone posted on here that Melton's new trucks don't have diesel APU. That may not be true, so call and ask.
System Transport still has diesel APU though. -
yes the new trucks do not have an apu, that being said most likely you will not get a new truck. Melton is still merging all their trucks to autos if that's not a deal breaker.

I remember reading that like 6 years ago when I was first considering a cdl. Absolutely hillaruous. Grossly....and I do mean GROSS....exaggerated most likely, but funny none the less.
