    I'll state that another way.

I'm ###### if some schmuck promises the customer the load will be on the timbuktu dock at 1 am tonight and here I am having to deliver. Promises promises. You think someone would ask me first before anything, when can you be at timbuktu. That will generate a decent appt date and time. Save or dispose of all this heavy lifting.

i dont know but im also a night driver but my gf racks up more miles than me in the daytime lol, and im not even falling alseep during my shift lol. i think because i was slowing down more often than she was due to the limited vision on certain new unfamiliar roads. and also take a little longer when im at the shippers/customers too

He's right. I run at night almost exclusively. I can be here or there by morning in any truck.

Also try to get out west away from the east where possible. Less BS with the possible exception of Phoenix and Portland etc.

    Bull.

He set what time he was available for the next load. He has no obligation to get started earlier.

Schneider does encourage new drivers not to drive overnights. We make a big deal about fatigue management and getting rest. If a driver has his rest, it's one thing. If he hasn't, then it is a horse of an entirely different color. I have in the past told disptach exactly what they can do with a load (politely and respectfully) when I've been waiting on an assignment and they calculate that waiting time as part of my 10 hour break. Had they informed me early then I could have changed my decisions to comply with the load requirements, but bad planning on their part does not make an emergency on mine.

That is one of the reasons the regulations have become what they are, some busted their butts to make them impossible schedules and created more and new regulations to jump over. Times has changed, even in the time of hurry, hurry I still would tell them when I could deliver safely. They even wrote songs about our misdeeds.

I'm reading this right now because I have 82 minutes left.

But my first appointment is tomorrow morning at 0800, but I'm 312 miles away.

Now what am I going to do?

First thing after finding a good escape spot, and spending an hour cleaning the inside of the truck, is break out a large garden salad.
