I've got a family friend that worked at YRC for 20 years or so got tired of the nonsense so he took a seasonal job with Brown and ended up getting offered a full time position after it... Been about 4 years now that hes been at UPS.

    So it can happen...

If they need permanent feeder drivers or package car drivers and you do a good job they might offer you a permanent position.
Right now it is easier to get into a permanent position off the street than ever before. The online shopping boom has been resulting in massive growth year after year. They along with the other courier companies are having a hard time keeping up.

In the last few years I have seen the majority of seasonal drivers get hired on permanently.
As long as you don't turn down work and always answer their calls, are never late, don't steal time and get into an accident and/or damage equipment, you have a good chance of getting hired as a permanent driver.
Location is important to. If you're at a decent sized hub your chances are pretty good.

Glad this thread opened up. Went to check for my area and they got seasonal feeder spots open. Worth a chance just to get a foot in the door.

I almost did this. You make 50% of what the regular drivers make. And you will work your butt off, and you have 0 chance of getting hired on full time, all that is done from a list from in house.

You still looking for work in Phoenix? I know a guy that might give you a shot.

Thanks @Dave_in_AZ for the info, they kept calling but leaving the earnings out, wanted me to show up to find out.

I'm doing cryo in the oilfield but my ears are open to any cha-chings if you know someone looking.

Oh, you can get permanently hired after seasonal work. That definitely happens.

Id imagine it varies by location. I got a followup call for the feeder gig. Sadly a few other irons in the fire as well. Going to get interesting the next few weeks.
