I spoke to my mechanic and he said they just bolt to the top of the heads. Shouldn't be too bad. Plus I plan buying a kit new from either Jacobs or Cummins. I only paid 14K for the truck and it runs like a raped ape. I wasn't even looking for a truck. This one just kinda came along. I run NC-CA dedicated with my other truck. I already have my authority so I figured why not.

Probably run 300 mile radius of Charlotte. Lots of round trip power only work here.

It’s not usual people add jakes to a motor that didn’t have one. More to it than just bolting them on to the top of head and installing a toggle. Like I said, it can be labor intensive and you should probably not buy used jakes. Also you have a computer in that truck that’s gonna have to be programmed. Just saying, I would talk to your mechanic more in depth and get a guaranteed quote from him and make him stand by his work. It can be done and has been done plenty of times. But it’s gonna cost a couple grand and upwards of 5 grand with new jakes from a reputable installer. Just lookin out bro

I appreciate the look. I've added a Jake to a truck before, but not one with a computer. I'm expecting it to be between 2 and 3 grand by the time one done, but you can't put a price on safety. I still see drivers heating up brakes going down Donner even in this day and age where an engine brake is considered standard equipment. I used to run 40/48 (now it's called I-68) through Maryland back in the late 80s and swore back then I would never own a truck without a Jake Brake.

Oh yeah I agree my friend. sounds like you know what’s up. If I was you, I would throw some dual 8 inch stacks on it. N14 with jakes and stacks. Omg!

Search Tech or Tec Brake if you cannot find a used set.

easy install on a N14, call up Jacobs or Cummins. has easy to follow instructions. will have a whole rocker cover to add right ontop of the valves.

So did you ever get this sorted out? I've got an 01 9200 and apparently international wasnt fond of ordering trucks with Jake's on them because I dont have them either.

Ive looked at Jacob's install manual and it seems pretty straight forward on the wrench side of things.

I've also seen the pacbrake but not sure just how it's different or better if at all than the factory unit

I'm looking at a Freightliner that needs one too. Planning on calling tomorrow and see what it takes.
