For some reason I love Wyoming. Tomorrow morning I need to start my drive from Laramie to Casper, Sheridan, Gillette, then empty all the way to Green River, then Denver.

If winds are a problem then once in a while I will go take 287 through the Landers backway to Rocksprings to avoid i80.

I get to do this route every single week.

I enjoy Wyoming as well. As much as I hate the white outs with 79mph gusts. I’ve put a lot of miles through there 4x a week for 4 years from Evanston to Cheyenne. Just when you think it’s bad.... the next trip got worse.

  4. If you are going by Cheyenne stop by. The J if your rolling up 25. Check parking lot for skateboards and oversized. If they are parked you park to.

Same with Petro laramie wy when you get to it, check the lot. On a side note you can take 30 to stay low if it's heavy wind.

It says it’s closed until November 27th.
    What’s that about?

That section has been closed for awhile now. Not a problem at all. It just bypasses on the exit ramp. No big deal.

I came through there yesterday while it was dumping that wet snow... Wasnt slick, or windy... Just some minor visibility issues. But it was supposed to get quite a bit of snow last night. And May be pretty slick this morning... Yesterday it was 33 degrees at noon.

I don't think skateboards will park that much. They're safer then vans. When it comes to wind.

You guys afraid to drive the state empty.

Think about all the deliveries that go up there and leave empty. Albertsons never brings a load back. They're always empty.

511 is an ok resorce but, it doesn't updated often enough. It will often keep saying road is still closed or still snowing big time or whatever , Long after everything has cleared.

If you have internet pull up the traffic cams far more useful.
This goes for any state. You'll be surprised how often you'll see that you don't have any reason to be sitting , unless you looking for an excuse.
By the way never head out with the first group of trucks after a closure.
Wait for the wreck to be cleared in that first group instead of being caught up in it.
