If it's an older truck he probably has a headlight out. Maybe the driver forgot to switch them off, or maybe he's an ### hole... depends.

It might not be the high beams but non adjusted lights but them new lights they are coming out with keep getting brighter, get some good shooting glasses that have that yellow lenses, it cuts the glare and as we age we have less tolerance for bright lights it seems. Get one of them fancy eye tests that have all those lights shooting and they looks into your eyes to see if everything is still connected correct.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
it is crazy to realize how many of them leave them on and im sure they know it
and no it is not because it is LEDs, could tell the difference
-
do have a pair of those and definitely could tell when it is on high beam and most will turn them off but some are ########. but maybe you are right about the new LEDs, most pickup trucks, they must all put in the brightest ones
-
It may not be their high beams had that happen the other night going done a narrow road, one of those new short buses. I thought the person had their high beams on (their normal beam was as bright as my high beam) so I flashed mine to try to tell them to turn theirs off, then they flashed their high beam then I got even more blinded
bottomdumpin and Lepton1 Thank this. -
lol is not fun for me to guess while driving. on the positive note, it keeps me awake for being annoyed

Wife's car has projector headlights.
I've noticed that there is a 'cut off' line when the lights hit the neighbor's fence; the upper portion of the beam is flat like there is a shield keeping the upper part hidden.
Now on the silky smooth highways of our dreams this wouldn't be an issue.
Real bumpy roads cause the 'hot spot' of the lights to bounce up into the eyes of everyone and they flash their brights until I flash mine back and now we all can't see right.....Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Some put the brighter led’s in. They’re all over the place. Not sure if even legal?
My Toyota has three settings for headlights. Low low. Bright low. Then high beams. Holy cow high really lights up everything.
I fear that some people have similar. Are running against traffic with the low Brights. At the least is rude. -
Driving at night caused me horrible problems. The flashing high beams just as I was looking at my California mirror and many other things NOT just the bright headlights. I have a problem with my retinas that cause me headaches. I worked with my ophthalmologist (medical doctor) and we worked out a great solution. I wore what was heavily tinted nighttime driving glasses and an eye drop like this one. Not a perfect solution, but it did help a lot.
