I bet you could have been driving one of them if you wanted to.

Way to put the bug splatter on top of the sign there @Ruthless.

Seriously though, how you do it and not lose your mind is beyond comprehension.

I had on old gentleman, when I was all of 23, tell me, when I pulled the Hot-Shot out from behind the seat, "young man, I see your new to my feed yard so let me tell you my rules. Don't open your drains while backed into my chute and second, if you don't feel like having that hot-shot shoved up you ### while I hold the button then I suggest you put that back where you found it"

I never seen fat cattle load so nice and orderly and I never used a hot-shot again.

    Thank you sir.

I was told a long time ago that every day you work you are interviewing for the job you want tomorrow. I believe that's true.

Well, what a waste of a day in Savannah, sun shining and hot-humid like every other day however 2 of my 3 moves I was supposed to do today got cancelled because there's a storm coming. So in 3 days of sitting here I got one move done. Now I'm parked back at the port with the 20 wide I brought in Monday morning to "see" if it's going to get loaded on the ship tonight. The ship is docking right now and they are supposed to begin working it right away however when it comes time for the crane to "fly" the wing into the ship it will be up to the safety officer to decide if it's going on this voyage or waiting on the next ship. The forecast is calling for tropical storm force winds to arrive around midnight and in my past experience that's right before the time they will be ready for me so I suspect my week of being the local driver will be put down in the history books as having done one single move.

I guess the up-side, I didn't have to worry about running into the new daily rate cap that has been established for this position.

What about if you’re content with the job you have? :)
