Welcome to trucking, where things are always changing and never consistent.

I can add, that I don't run spot market at all, all direct. Our customers have been a roller coster since late June. Flatbed freight in southwest Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan. I've still had a record year, mostly due to adding two trucks and rate increases that were approved at the beginning of the year.

I run the Texas to northeast lanes. Mostly Laredo to philly. 2 loads a week home every weekend. Freight has slowed down. I’ve sat a night in Laredo 2 weeks in a row now. I just won’t run the garbage rates and would rather sit. From what I’ve heard steel has gone up and people are waiting to order. Not sure on the truth about it. Usually I’m busy March to December.
