Actually you can get self issue up to 159000 and pick the approved routes. But the computor doesn't take inconsideration (or the morons in the odot) the tight turns or narrow routes. I got Pizzed one trip and shot straight down 75 without a single issue to deal with. But your taking a hell of a chance of getting to talk with the man !!

Talked to them today, it's a private fleet, AX Transportation. They are owned by Xtreme manufacturing based in Henderson, NV and this position is out of one of their plants in Ellwood, Ks. They make the Snorklelifts and Forklifts with the shooting booms and other construction related equipment and ship them to Aherns Rental stores.

She said she started out last year with 20 trucks and ended with 40 and they want to add 12 more this year, although their website says just 24 trucks, maybe it's just not updated. Can't imagine they stay busy enough for that many trucks just servicing one companies rental stores, (81), but what do I know, I didn't get too far into the weeds as far as the pay and such since I'm a long ways from acting on anything.

My main question was if the position was based out of OKC or not. The bad part for me was 10-14 days out and they do their best to get you home when needed, yada, yada, yada. But your right, if I was to do anything I would try to talk to one of their drivers first......if I could find one, lol, I've never seen one of those trucks around here.

They've got nice looking stuff, on their website anyway, and no tarping! Conestoga trailers.

Alright, Im needing a life line or atleast some advice...

End of June I started running my stepdads truck (1 truck carrier). I went into it with the intention of eventually taking over all day to day operations so that my mom isnt burdened with all the paperwork and load chasing. We had a sort of handshake agreement that after I ran the truck for a bit, generated some revenue we'd start looking at flatbeds & stepdecks. I tried to cash in on some oil field $ by running some sandbox in S Tx. The whole thing was a cluster F and I decided that wasnt for us. Ive had some pretty decent weeks and a few not so decent weeks. I have urged them to move into the opendeck market where we can do even better. That's when the bs started. I showed them them #'s of cost of trailer vs income. The #'s are solid. I have now been met with a resounding "no" in the purchase, lease or even short term rental of a flatbed/stepdeck trailer and have been informed that there are thoughts of selling the truck and authority (out from under me). This was supposed to be my time to expand the co and build something to take care of my family.

My stepdad has Parkinsons and the emotional distress of it all has really taken a toll on him. The fact that I am a "no risk, no reward" type of person is exactly the opposite of him and he has a lot of...ill feelings towards me stemming back from when I was a kid and a teenager (moved with my dad when I was 15). His attitude isnt one of "Im here to help you succeed". Its more of a "Im letting you do this so you can fail and I can say I you so to everyone". And if I don't fail, I think the selling of the truck/co will the the F U to come next. All of this is just the tip of the iceberg...but I just dont have the energy to go into anymore detail.

At this point Im trying to figure out if/how I can lease or lease purchase a trailer so that I can atleast run the freight Id like to run and increase our revenue. My goal is to purchase this truck and authority from him if he actually allows that to happen. That is the type of person he is...out of spite he might sell the truck to a random person before me.

At the very least it feels good to vent. I can't believe at 37yrs old this is what Im worrying about.
